Architect Bartholomew Voorsanger asked us to consult on the metal and glass for this important project for the Asia Society & Museum. Located at a prestigious Park Avenue address in New York City, the museum was undergoing a renovation that included its outdoor space.

Voorsanger designed tables and chairs that were minimal, accentuating the open-air aesthetic while offering a nod to the Far East. Not only would these tables have to serve as outdoor meeting area furniture, but they had to be easily removable at times in order for the museum to transform the space for certain program requirements.

Working with the architect’s vision, we chose the materials for these tables and redesigned them to be stackable and collapsible for ease of use. We also added a center-bowl feature that could be utilized to highlight features in a variety of ways.

Guests of the Asia Society & Museum can now enjoy an outdoor space furnished with tables that were thoughtfully designed specifically for the outdoor space to bring people together in conviviality.
