Cracked Glass & Leatherette Steel Dining Room Table
Design, Fabrication, Installation

For this commissioned, original work, we drew on our deep knowledge of unusual glass techniques and hand-crafted custom metal finishing to create a stunning, yet functional, blend of sculpture and furniture. The curvilinear base of the table is made out of decorative forged metal – corten steel with a leathered texture – sculpted into two swirling serpents that support the glass top at either end and intertwine in the middle to create an ellipse on the floor. The table’s surface is composed of five layers of glass, three clear glass layers with two layers of tempered, shattered safety glass floating within them, creating a pattern of crackled glass sandwiched between the smooth exterior layers. We pioneered this technique as custom glass fabricators.
