Jones Theater
Jaroff Studio has been collaborating with the Shubert Organization to renovate the entrances of their iconic Broadway theaters for over 20 years. When they decided to renovate the Cort Theater, they once again reached out to Jaroff Studio to revitalize the entry and lobby doors. For this incredible project, we designed acoustic bronze doors to create a stunning and soundproof entryway for the theater. Our work involved acoustically isolating and engineering each space, followed by fabricating every door using bronze metal detailing to soundproof the theater while also glamorizing the entrance.
Once this magnificent renovation was completed, the theater was renamed the Jones Theater in honor of James Earl Jones, the theater and movie legend. The immense preservation efforts made in restoring this iconic theater, including these beautiful doors, received The New York Landmark Conservancy’s highest honor and were selected as the 2024 winner of the Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award, recognizing the top architectural preservation projects in NYC.
