Temple Israel’s Ark of the Covenant

Custom Restoration of Temple Israel’s Ark of the Covenant

When Temple Israel on NYC’s Upper East Side needed to restore their sacred Ark of the Covenant, they turned to Jaroff Studio for our expertise in meticulous restoration. Standing 42 feet tall, this monumental centerpiece, originally crafted in 1967, is made of cast aluminum and bronze. Over time, its finishes had worn, and the mechanical systems controlling the Ark’s doors and curtains required repair.

Our team rose to the challenge of designing and fabricating custom hardware, mechanisms, and motors to ensure seamless operation of the curtains and doors. Each intricately carved door, gate, and panel was carefully hand-cleaned and re-patinaed, restoring this iconic symbol of worship to its original grandeur.
